Rekindle that special feeling and light that fire!

Why you should love your home.

Do you ever find yourself gazing around your home, thinking it's lost a bit of its spark? Living in the same house for years can sometimes leave us feeling disconnected from our space. But fear not, my friend! I'm here with some easy-breezy tips to sprinkle a bit of magic and rekindle the love you once had for your humble abode.

Why It's Vital to Love Your Home

Now, let's chat about why giving your home a little TLC is as crucial as watering your favourite plant. Your home isn't just a roof over your head; it's your sanctuary, a retreat from the chaos of the outside world. The vibes it exudes can seriously impact your mood and outlook on life. So, loving your home isn't just about aesthetics - it's about creating a haven where joy, comfort, and contentment can thrive.

Now, onto the good stuff - let's delve into some friendly, practical, and advisory tips that'll have you falling in love with your home all over again!

#1 Shed Some Light, Sunshine!

First things first, let's brighten things up a bit. Natural light is like a free dose of happiness for your home. Open those curtains wide, add some mirrors, and let the sunshine dance its way in. If you're in a windowless spot, fear not! A couple of lamps that offer warmth, or some LED lighting can work wonders. Light is the most important aspect of any room or environment, ask a film director, and they will concur!

#2 Art Attack: Hang It Proud!

Time to turn those walls into a canvas of memories. Art doesn't have to be highfalutin or break the bank. Affordable prints, family photos, or cherished mementoes can add a personal touch. Ever tried a gallery wall? It's like curating your mini-art exhibition, and the best part. You're the artist!

#3 Green Vibes: Nature Inside

Plants, my friend, are your home's new BFFs. They bring life, colour, and bonus points for air purification. Not a plant whisperer? No worries - faux plants work wonders too. Maybe toss in a rock or a piece of driftwood for that extra touch of nature.

#4 Deep Clean Disco: Party with Your Dust Bunnies

It's time to unleash the cleaning superhero in you! A deep clean isn't just about wiping surfaces; it's a dance-off with your dust bunnies. Top to bottom, one section at a time. Less clutter, fresh scents, and voilà, your home is party-ready.

#5 Furniture Tango: Dance with Your Décor

Ever tried rearranging furniture? It's like a little dance for your living room. You don't need to move mountains, just a chair or two. Small adjustments can bring a fresh look without breaking a sweat. Dance away, my friend!

#6 Cosy Up with Meghittség

Meghittség is like a warm hug for your home. Embrace simple pleasures - think warm beverages, hearty meals, soft lighting, and cosy blankets.

Snuggle up with a good book and some scented candles. Slow down, savour the small moments, and turn your home into a comfy retreat.

#7 Routine Remix: Spice Up Your Day

Let's break the monotony! Switch up your routine - have your coffee al fresco, lunch in the garden, or pick up a new hobby. It's not just about keeping things interesting; it's about infusing your home with new energy.

#8 Little Joys, Big Cheers

The little things make a house a home. Your favourite mug, those flowers you bought on a whim - cherish them! Take a moment daily to revel in the joy these little treasures bring. Your home is a treasure trove; let those gems shine.

#9 Zen Den: Find Your Calm Corner

Create a stress-free zone where you can unwind. Set relaxation goals, pick a cosy spot, and introduce calming elements like soft lighting and scented candles. Aromatherapy diffusers? A game-changer for those chill vibes.

#10 Treasured Tales: Showcase Your Favourites

What brings you joy? Feature those treasures! It could be art, a vintage centrepiece, or a souvenir from a special trip. Surround yourself with things that make you smile. Your home should tell your story, one cherished item at a time.

#11 Splash of Colour: Paint the Town... Or Just a Wall Colour is your home's superhero. You don't need to paint the entire place; a pop of colour through art, cushions, or rugs can do the trick. Go bold or go home (or do both).

Choose hues that reflect your personality and let your home wear its true colours.

#12 Declutter Disco: Shake Off the Stuff

Decluttering is like a dance party for your belongings. Bid farewell to the unnecessary, let the keepers shine. Toss out what doesn't spark joy, and let your home breathe again. Decluttering isn't just about stuff; it's about rediscovering the love for what truly matters.

#13 Enjoying your external environment.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder! Whether you have no outside space, or a small balcony, a garden, a public square, or a park to explore.... embrace it! And go for walks...in the rain!! Taking a break, even a short one, from the home will help you reflect and think about ideas, and help you appreciate what you have whilst you are away. It's always nice to head back home after a long walk, kick off the shoes, grab a coffee and snuggle up on the sofa.

#14 Friends

It can be beneficial to invite trusted friends around to the home, you know...the ones you can rely on, those reliable companions that will “call it” how they see it without pleasing you for the sake of it. Having a second opinion can be useful in addressing a part of the home you have been unsure of and tossing up new ideas.

Sometimes they can be better than partners. Partners may tell you what you want to hear to have an easier life, rather than being honest. Or they will do the opposite and argue with you due to their narcissistic bruised egos for not being “in control”, which isn't, at best helpful, and worse, quite frankly abusive.

Be true to yourself!

#15 Your home.

Remember, be confident and bold in your decision-making process. Ultimately, the decision will be yours so don’t be afraid to make the changes, and if they don’t work the first time, that’s ok, it can be changed again. Don’t feel pressured or bullied by partners to do things you don’t want to do or listen to any negative comments. If this support is there, embrace it, if not then discard it in the rubbish bin for collection.

Ready to Rediscover the Love?

There you have it, my friends - a friendly guide to injecting some life and love back into your home. Whether you're having a deep clean disco or rearranging furniture like a design maestro, make it an adventure. Your home is your canvas; let the joyful redesigning begin!

"If I had a flower for every time I thought of you, I could walk through my garden forever." - Alfred Tennyson
